Moist - "Ophelia"

Creature was one of the first albums I owned when music became a big part of my young life. When I listened to it I hoped all albums were going to be like it. Start to finish great songs, variety in styles. Uppers, downers, fast and slow. "Ophelia" was not a single from the album and I think for that reason it became more dear to me. Like I was one of the only people on Earth to know how good a song it was. To this day the opening riffs from "Ophelia" take me back there and Creature is still one of my all time favourite albums.

The Watchmen - "Zoom"

The Watchmen are a great Canadian band, from Winnipeg of all places. I was inspired by one of Rob's picks a few weeks back where he went with an obscure Eve 6 track. Still a solid track, but not the first one that pops to mind you think of that band. "Zoom" is one of those songs, it's off the album Brand New Day released in 1996 and sandwiched between 2 of The Watchmen's most well known albums, so this one got overlooked. It was at track 1 and it's great!!

"1940" - The Submarines (Amplive Remix)

I could've picked this band last week I suppose as The Submarines were a duo who were also a romantic couple. They hailed out of Los Angeles and had 3 albums under their belts. Amplive is a producer from California known for his hip-hop mixes and work as a DJ. I'm not normally down with remixes, but right from the opening beat you can tell this is a special track that demands your attention.
