Two Songs From Each Artist For A Long-ish Weekend!

Some of the lads have chosen to ring in the long weekend with double picks of great artists! Let's see what they got! Rob, you're up!

Rob

Collective Soul - "Precious Declaration"

Collective Soul - "Gel"

Mr. T

TBD

G-Man

311 - "Transistor"

311 are a great band. A unique style that's difficult to pin down and several great albums with all kinds of singles off each to choose from. I'll always remember Transistor because it was the first album i knew of that had like 21 tracks. They said those extra 10 tracks were a gift to the fans. Why not?

311 - "You Wouldn't Believe"

In the 90's I felt I was late to the 311 party. Then when I hit college this track came about. I'm glad I was aware of the greatness of 311 at the time

Doug

Sturgill Simpson - "In Bloom"

Dano

Beck - "Que Onda Guero"

Beck - "Hell Yes"

Johnny HP

The Watchmen - "Absolutely Anytime"

The Watchmen - "34 Dead St."

Play this one as loud as the speakers will go! God damn I love this song!!

What's Left Of The Song?

Rob

The Salads - "Today Is Your Lucky Day"

Recently flipped all the songs on my mp3 player. Love that. Every walk home now is a new adventure through great tunes. This beauty came one earlier today and I knew I was locked in.

Mr. T

Samuel L Jackson - "Nobody Gets Out Alive"

Who knew Sammy J could sing so well? Taken from the soundtrack of The Hitman's Bodyguard

G-Man

Kanye West - "Runaway"

A bit of a controversial pick here. Love him or hate him (And i'm really only commenting on his music here, not his off stage/sometimes onstage douchebaggery) Kanye's got some great tracks. Some are straight forward club joints, others are simply bizarre. With "Runaway" this is pure art. He made a 30 minute version of "Runaway" with other songs from the album mixed in, but this is just a condensed version. Still captivating.

Doug

NF - "Let You Down"

Dano

Flogging Molly - "Rare Ould Times"

Flogging Molly - "What's Left Of The Flag"

Note from G-Man: Looks like Dano is still reliving St. Patrick's Day

Jonny HP

Eric Burdon - "Sixteen Tons"

Inspired by a long hard day, day 2 of 3 of a trade show in fact. Theme song to Joe Versus The Volcano. Fuckin great flick

Songs Marching Forward Into...

Rob

Foo Fighters - "Breakout"

Mr. T

Hank Williams Jr. - "Family Tradition"

G-Man

Atmosphere - "The Waitress"

Was chatting with Dano about this one earlier today. Great track, which also features one of my favourite artists Tom Waits. You can faintly hear him doing some beat boxing over the track. I love how unassuming that is for a great, well known artist. When hes featured on a song, he doesn't need to be front and centre, just as long as it adds something cool to the track

The Beach Boys - "Kokomo"

You don't need to ask. You already know. Get there fast and take it slow.

Doug

Spirit Of The West - "Home For A Rest"

AC/DC - "You Shook Me All Night Long"

Dano

The Knife - "We Share Our Mother's Health"

Jonny HP

Nine Inch Nails - "Starfuckers, INC."
