The Aura Stays The Same

Rob

The Police - "Walking On The Moon"

I couldn't decide on a track from Synchronicity. Such a solid album, although Regatta de Blanc was awesome too

Mr. T

Van Morrison - "Back On Top"

G-Man

Iggy Pop & Sum 41 - "Little Know It All"

I've only recently come around to Sum 41. Was kinda put off by their quasi-forced "punk-itude" back when they first came out in the early 2000s. However, i've always loved this track. From Iggy Pop's album Skull Ring. A Santana-esque mash-up, featuring a bunch of punk acts providing the music for Pop's legendary vocals. I need more songs like this that start at 10 and end at 10. All the way through

Doug

Daft Punk - "Digital Love"

Daft Punk 1993 - 2021

Dano

The Blue Stones - "Grim"

Jonny HP

James Taylor - "Fire + Rain"

Mike D

Buddy Miles - "Them Changes"

J.B.

The Vandals - "Jackass"

The Vandals have steadily been a punk band and contributed to,not only the 90's & 2000s punk rock revival but have helped the entire scene since the 80's. More notably so with their albums prior to 2000.
Needless to say, they've put out a lot of great jams. They've seen a long line up of front and back band members, but haven't skipped and skimped when it comes to pumping out great tracks. Anyone heard of cowpunk? These guys have dabbled... This jam is one of the many great tunes that zaps me back to some good parties and feel good times. Happy Freaky Friday!

Angako's Dream

Rob

Blink-182 - "Mutt"

Mr. T

Jimmy Buffett - "A Pirate Looks At 40"

G-Man

The Real McKenzies - "Chip"

Nothing really major to talk about with this one. Just a wicked, badass, mofo-in' Canadian Scotch Punk song, that blasted through my car speakers this morning on the AM commute. Enjoy!

Doug

DVOD - "Scotty Doesn't Know"

Dano

3 Inches Of Blood - "Look Out"

For Ronnie James Motherfuckin' Dio

Jonny HP

The Strumbellas - "Spirits"

Mike D

The All-American Rejects - "Bleed Into Your Mind"

J.B.

Big L - "Put It On"

Back in '99, Big L was shot 9 times and killed in his home neighbourhood in Harlem. Although he wasn't a junior to the scene, some say he would have been a significant contender to being more influential than Jay-Z (not my words). It's crazy to think what they'd both have done to the hip-hop world if he wasn't gunned down. Even crazier, his childhood friend was arrested for his murder, although not convicted. 17 years later, he'd meet the same fate as Big L.

Lonesome Acceptance

Rob

Counting Crows - "Untitled (Love Song)"

Mr. T

Fleetwood Mac - "Everywhere"

G-Man

Nine Inch Nails - "Dead Souls"

One of the coolest movies with the best soundtracks to come out of the 90's was The Crow. Mixing up 80's goth culture and alternative 90's sounds made this one memorable. That combined with the haunting circumstances of the movie, makes any song off this Soundtrack permanently linked to an era in time. This Nine Inch Nails track is actually a cover of a Joy Division song

Doug

The Tragically Hip - "Long Time Running"

Dano

Thornley - "Come Again"

Jonny HP

Pat Benetar - "We Belong"

Mike D

Saint Raymond - "Younger"

J.B.

Souls Of Mischief - "93 'til Infinity"

Here's an old school track that requires your attention. The Souls of Mischief were probably not as familiar as other booming hip-hop artists of the early and mid 90s in itself. But definitely a few names of noteriety are synonymous with the likes of SoM (Del tha Funky Homosapien). This track is debatedly the largest single they put out. Without it, other follow on hip-hop 'groups' wouldn't get the touch to the public without the bolstering this track did to support the West coast hip-hop genre of the time. Enjoy you're Friday and if you're looking for more similar music try some illmatic (Nas) or The Pharcyde. I love the experimental days of Hip Hop.

Actual Abyss

Rob

Tracy Chapman - "New Beginning"

Steve Miller Band - "Rock'n Me"

Mr. T

Jackson Browne - "The Waiting"

G-Man

Pink Floyd - "The Great Gig In The Sky"

And i'm not afraid of dying. Any time will do, I don't mind. Why should I be frightened of dying? There's no reason for it - you've got to go sometime.

Doug

Dan + Shay - "Keeping Score" feat. Kelly Clarkson

Dano

Steve Miller Band - "Swingtown"

Missy Armstrong - "Ain't Going Down To The River"

Jonny HP

Jefferson Airplane - "Somebody To Love"

Mike D

Sufjan Stevens - "Death With Dignity"

J.B.

Worn-Tin - "Bitter"

This definitely has the beach bonfire by the ocean kind of vibe for a Friday....enjoy the Friday love!
