*Note From G-Man: Nice ecclectic mix this week boys. Kudos. Rob The Mars Volta - "Roulette Dares (The Haunt Of)"
Mr. T The Hollies - "Long Cool Woman"
G-Man Anthrax - "Madhouse"
Just a song that was in my head quite a bit lately and with the situation at work today definitely a fitting release to the day.
This week's theme, brought to us by Dano the blog's newest member, is song's that feature actors in some shape or form. Either musicians who've acted in movies or actors turned singers/musicians.
Let's see what the rest of 'em picked...
Rob Tenacious D - "Wonder Boy"
Mr. T X G-Man Pete Yorn & Scarlett Johansson - "Relator"
Scarlett Johansson did the 2009 album Break Up with New Jersey native Pete Yorn. The album got mixed reviews, but I thought the first single "Relator" was a clever little track and a great example of how duets should be done.
Today we another another art form all of us at Song Of The Day hold very dear. Well, one of us had to be convinced...The Simpsons is one of the longest running shows in history and have always been a place where other celebrities could top by and showcase their acting chops. The Simpsons has also been known for including original music once in a while when the Episode calls for it. So today we pick great Simpsons songs and great songs by Musicians who have appeared on the show
Mr. T Buju Banton - "Untold Stories"
As everyone knows, I love reggae. Here is my pick of the day. Buju made it big in the early 90's and is still going at it. Kinda. With his unique voice and lyrics of the people, as a listener, Buju has drawn me in and his 'Til Shilo is always a go to album for me.
G-Man The Doughboys - "Shine"
Back in the day I would listen to this song every chance I could. Then I forgot about it for a long time...I have no idea way. During a recent trip down memory lane I was trying to remember the track list of a favourite mp3 CD-Mixtape of mine and what was track #10? "Shine" by The Doughboys.
