Aphex Triplet

 Mr. T

Marshall Tucker Band - "Can't You See"

G-Man

Matthew Good Band - "Strange Days"

"Apparitions" is often seen as the Matthew Good Band's best song, and it's definitely in the conversation. "Strange Days" from their 3rd album though, really shows the maturity in style and songwriting they went through as a band, the video is great, on par with "Apparitions", and i'm sorry, but it was goddamn prophetic.

Doug

Joe Walsh - "Rocky Mountain Way"

Dano

3 Inches Of Blood - "Crazy Nights"

Jonny HP

Cold - "Remedy"

Mike D

JVKE - "Golden Hour"

J.B.

Danzig - "Malefical"

I once read a story online about a guy that lived up the street from Glen Danzig. It was too mundane and hilarious this critique about the very few run ins this guy had with his neighbour. I didn't believe it. Until Danzig sold his home, as is...with EVERYTHING in it. No question, it was THE Danzig. Here is the story. I love where this guy sleeps and the crazy stuff he had in his house....it's worth the scroll.

Green Noise

Mr. T

Burt Bacharach - "What The World Needs Now"

G-Man

Panic! At The Disco - "Don't Let The Light Go Out"

Most modern music just lacks that certain something. That thing that makes a song get stuck in your head or stops you in your tracks when it connects with a feeling or a memory deep within. Songs like that do exist these days, just have to penetrate a bit deeper below the surface. I believe Panic! At The Disco are calling it quits. Not a bad song to cap off a career

Doug

Warren Zevon - "Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead"

Dano

Crown Lands - "Starlifter: Fearless Pt. 2"

Dudes, they travelled back in time and brought back the song Rush forgot they'd written

Jonny HP

Boot Camp Solitaire

Mr. T

Alesso - "Words" feat. Zara Larsson

G-Man

Astronautalis - "Contrails" Feat. Tegan Quinn

There's a list i'm gonna do someday about Hip Hop/Rap songs that feature rock singers. This one has Tegan Quin from Tegan & Sara fame. It also has one of my favourite hip-hop lyrics ever: "The risk is not a slipped grip at the edge of the peak; The real danger is just to linger to base at the thing"

Doug

Wu-Tang x Led Zeppelin - "The Wu Tang Zeppelin (Mashup Album)"

This is a little different than a single song but it is what I stumbled onto this week! Enjoy!

Dano

Jonny HP

Monstrous

Mr. T

Little Big Town & Trombone Shorty - "Jambalaya (On The Bayou)"

G-Man

Godflesh - "Like Rats"

A throwaway comment during a Metallica interview I was watching reminded of this band. Went on a bit of a journey into my memory getting reaquainted with them. Industrial Metal pioneers. There was a (brief) time in my life, when I loved Industrial Metal, coming home from youth group on Friday nights and switching on LOUD on Much Music, hoping to hear the latest and greatest...

Doug

NOFX - "The Idiots Are Taking Over"

Jonny HP

Abandon The Ark

 Mr. T

Manfred Mann - "Pretty Flamingo"

G-Man

Laura Jane Grace - "Conceptual Paths"

Today is the last page of a chapter for me. And as always, when I stand on the shore of a new frontier, this song is on my mind. No longer can I sleep idly. No longer can I simply exist. I must explore and expand. The end of an era is neigh. Yet still, i'm scared to death....

Mr. T

Carl Carlton - "Everlasting Love"

G-Man

Bad Religion - "Punk Rock Song"

This is one of those songs that has been in my collection for years, but I don't know if i've sat and actually listen to it. Absorb it, until lately. Jesus, the lyrics are more meaningful now than ever...

Have you been to the desert? Have you walked with the dead?
There's a hundred thousand children being killed for their bread
And the figures don't lie, they speak of human disease
But we do what we want, and we think what we please
Have you lived the experience? Have you witnessed the plague?
People making babies sometimes just to escape
In this land of competition, the compassion is gone
Yeah, we ignore the needy, and we keep pushing on
Keep pushing on
This is just a punk rock song
Written for the people who can see something's wrong
Like ants in a colony, we do our share
But there's so many other fucking insects out there
And this is just a punk rock song
Have you visited the quagmire? Have you swam in the shit?
The party convention and the real politik
The face is always different, the rhetoric the same
But we swallow it all, and we'll see nothing change
Nothing has changed
This is just a punk rock song
Written for the people who can see something's wrong
Like workers in a factory, we do our share
But there's so many other fuckin' robots out there
And this is just a punk rock song
10 million dollars on a losing campaign
20 million starving and writhing in pain
Big strong people unwilling to give
Small in vision and perspective
One in five kids below the poverty line
One population running out of time
Running out of time
This is just a punk rock song
Written for the people who can see something's wrong
Like ants in a colony, we do our share
But there's so many other fucking insects out there
And this is just a punk rock song
The figures don't lie, they speak of human disease
But we do what we want and we think what we please
One in five kids below the poverty line
One population running out of time
This is just a punk rock song

Mr. T

Staple Singers - "I'll Take You There"

G-Man

Alexisonfire - "Sans Soliel"

Going with a song off one of the new albums I picked up in 2022. The latest from Canada's Alexisonfire, it might not hit as hard as their first 4 records, but it's got some shining moments. Like this track "Sans Soliel"
