Led Zeppelin - "Baby Come On Home"

Wilco - "California Stars"

I know it's the dead of Winter. And I mean DEAD. But I had to go with this one after I heard it on my morning commute this morning. One of my favourite Summer time chill songs. After the darkness comes the light. Warm sun on your face. Cool drink in your hand. Soon, right?

No Doubt - "Simple Kind Of Life"

This was going to be my pick before I heard the Wilco one this morning, but still thought I should give this one it's moment. Totally forgot about this track until I saw the video last night. Nothing's tougher for a band than trying to follow up a smash album. For No Doubt 1996's Tragic Kingdom made them (and singer Gwen Stefani) overnight sensations. It took them 4 years to come out with their next album Return Of Saturn. I always enjoyed it and thought it didn't get enough respect. I think this song gets forgotten, but it's a well written, well crafted alt-rock song. One of No Doubt's best.

Note From Rob: "Talk about a rod-stiffener"

Doug

Headstones - "Heart Of Darkness"

Dano

The Secret Sisters - "Mississippi"

The Secret Sisters - "He's Fine"

Jonny HP

Lana Del Rey - "Gods & Monsters"

Mike D

Loon Choir - "Full World"

J.B.

Le Tigre - "Deceptacon"

Electronic Dance Punk anyone? Le Tigre was a late 90s mindchild by the leftwing sociopolitical Kathleen Hanna (See Bikini Kill). I've heard this song covered by some pretty awesome front ladies over the years and even a high school garage band which was honestly epic. If you haven't heard it, it'll definitely help your Friday morning!
