Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs - "Electric Gypsy"
G-Man
Boysetsfire - "My Life In The Knife Trade"
It was a gorgeous day today and this one came on during my morning commute. It may not seem like a song that would remind someone of the blissful Summer days of years gone by, but it does for me. I first heard it on a mixed CD given to me in the Summer of 2004. Really opened a world of music to me. That Summer I remember it being so long and hot. So much less worry.

Springsteen Cover. Stumbled across this one on the satellite radio and almost like it more that Springsteen's version. Great use of harmonies!!
G-Man
Jeff Rosenstock - "9/10"
This song has one of those familiar sounds, even if you've never heard it. It could be from one of multiple different decades. Cool sound. Effortless.

Ketch Harbour Wolves - "The Signs Were Everywhere"
Since 2006 this Toronto band has really kept to their roots and have a great all around sound that's only developed and matured. They're less heard of but have kept providing me with some gems. It's music you can take anywhere. This track was actually featured in a great Canadian doc called Nine Rivers. Check it out
Mother's Day is almost upon us! And since all of us here at Song Of The Day are Bruthas from Utha Muthas...we're picking songs inspired by the upcoming celebrations. Some went a little more on the nose than others...Rob? Kick Us off...
Rob Everclear - "Volvo Driving Soccer Mom"
Mr. T Eric Clapton - "Holy Mother"
G-Man CHVRCHES - "The Mother We Share"
This one could be from my brothers and I to our mom. Also it topped my list of the best songs of the past decade.

Dano Fever Ray - "Mama's Hand"
Jonny HP Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - "Can't Hold Us" feat. Ray Dalton
Mike D Adele - "Hello"

G-Man High Holy Days - "River Of Styx"
One of the biggest bands to come out of my home town of North Bay, ON. I know it's not much, but this song was great, no matter where they came from. The remixed it for their official debut, but I prefer the one that played on North Bay radio a few years before.
