Who knew a few members of Elastica were originally in Suede? Brit Rock bands from the 90's are a great place to dig for forgotten gems. Some of their best songs never hit over in North America. Case in point "Waking Up"
Doug

Blondie
Rac - "Never Let You Go" feat. Hilary Duff and Matt Koma
Here's a feel good song for ya! Impossible to hear this one and not A) wanna move to the rhythm or B) be immediately put in a good mood. Love Motown music
Just because you hear it all the time doesn't mean it ain't great. The haunting first few guitar chords/slides of this one always brings me back to the cold dark winter of 1998. Amazing how quick sound can do that. We need Garage Inc 2 already!!!!
Happy Easter! and since it's the long weekend, we here at Song Of The Day thought we'd bring you one of our much revered theme weeks! This week's theme is "What Ever Happened To?" And since it was suggested by our very own Mr. T....he get's to go first!
Mr. T
Nelly Furtado - "I'm Like A Bird"
Mr. T: "What Happened To Her?"
G-Man: "I Think she is basically being a mom now"
Mr. T: "That's a full time gig! I wouldn't know but Blondie has to take care of me and apparently that's not easy"
G-Man: "Haha, I remember what happened when you tried to dress yourself that one time..."
Mr. T: "We all have skills in life...but not all the skills..."
G-Man
Live - "Turn My Head"
I know these guys signed a huge record contract after or just before Throwing Copper. That can go one of two ways for a band, a successful career with longevity or fading into obscurity. However, my theory is that their name also did them in, especially in the internet era. Searching for Live or Live Band or Live Music or Live songs....you'd need to be very specific with your searches and let's face, most internet users just ain't it
Doug
Nina Simone - "Feeling Good"
What happened, Miss Simone?
Dano
Cake - "Long Line Of Cars"
Jonny HP
Mondo Cozmo - "Tonight Tonight"
Mike D
3Oh!3 - "Don't Trust Me"
J.B.
t.A.T.u - "All The Things She Said"
Whatever happened to Tatu? This song (and video) caused a pretty massive stir in the early 2000s....

Mr. T
Ziggy Marley - "Love Is My Religion"
G-Man
John Frusciante - "Omission"
The Red Hot Chili Peppers are back with new material! With the classic line up of Kiedis, Smith, Flea and Frusciante! And here I am still stuck on Frusciante's solo 2004 album. So many layers to get lost in. So many magical turns and corners. Add this one to your "Must Hear" list if you don't already know it
Doug
A Tribe Called Quest - "Scenario"
Dano
Morcheeba - "World Looking In"
Jonny HP
TBD
Mike D
Lights - "Okay, Okay"
Wet Leg - "Chaise Lounge"
J.B.
The Anxiety, WILLOW, Tyler Cole - "Meet At Our Spot"
Always been a fan of John Rzeznik's writing skills. Some of the best and most indelible 90's alt-rock songs came from the Goo Goo Dolls. This was the fourth, I think, single from Dizzy Up The Girl, but I also enjoyed it the most. Listening to it again after all these years, really see it in a different light. 20 plus years, faded away so fast
Doug
Onyx - "Slam"
Dano
The Wailin' Jennys - "The Devil's Paintbrush Road"
Jonny HP
Plague Vendor - "Locomotive"
Mike D
The Halluci Nation - "Land Back" feat. The Beat & A Northern Voice
J.B.
Alfa Mist - "Mind The Gap" feat. Lex Amor
If you're looking for some Acid Jazz escapes, definitely check out Alfa Mist. Actually, even if you aren't an Acid Jazz aficiando, fear not. There is a place for you here.
Love going down musical rabbit holes and seeing a band's name that I completely forgot existed. Prong were in the same circles as Type O Negative, Therapy? and Helmet in the 90's. Though this track is from a later album in 2012, they didn't lose their edge. Love the guitar tones in this one!
