Theses guys came on the radio randomly while I was in Toronto over New Years, not this song, but not "Lovefool" either. Made me think of this banger of a track. Takes me immediately back to 2006, when I was introduced to a flood of great tunes new and old that I previously hadn't had the chance to experience.
Bittersweet pick right here. It's officially December so I can allow myself to get into the festive mood with some Xmas music, but sad news yesterday as legendary Pogues frontman Shane McGowan passes away at 65. Shocked he was only 65. Shocked he lived that long. RIP. Thanks for the beautiful art

Reminded of "Prey" by Planes Mistaken For Stars. Another album I purchased solely because of the album art. Brought it home and let it spin. I thought to myself...how did I let it all slip by me?

The previous song helped me discover The Gaslight Anthem. I heard that they would be a band that I would dig but never heard a song by them. One day while perusing the CDs at Sunrise Records I saw their album The '59 Sound and checked it out. I saw a track on the back called "High Lonesome" and wondered if it was a cover. That curiousity and the recommendation was enough for me to purchase it and I must say I was a clever man that day. Perhaps my favourite driving CD ever...oh and it wasn't a cover. Just a great song by a great band
