This past weekend was the 23rd annual Jonny and G birthday bash. Not much needs to be said about except Gwar kills everything. That basically sums up about most of my life.

Gotta check this out...just watch yer ears out the gate!!
First time I heard of these guys was when I saw Gwar and Cradle Of Filth. CKY were supposed to open for them, but didn't get across the border or something. Didn't give them a second thought until a few days ago when this one came up in conversation about great guitar riffs! I should have checked them out earlier! Camp Kill Yourself!

Note from the rest of us: Happy Birthday y'old dog's cock!!!
Happy Rocktober y'all! I love that every now and then Punk Music rears it's vicious head and lurks back into the spotlight. Providing us listeners with a plethora of hard hitting songs by bands dripping with angst and attitude. The Distillers really gave the early 2000's resurgence a refreshing voice to get behind!

Me First & The Gimme Gimmes - "I Will Always Love You"
It might not be polished and at times sounds like an ungodly mess, but if you're curious about getting into classic punk rock, I mean right at the roots, you should think about starting with Black Flag Damaged. 'Police Story' isn't the album's shining moment, but there's something about the venom behind Henry Rollins spitting out "They hate us; We hate them", a movement was born that day.
An unfortunate band name almost let this song be lost to obscurity for me. But it came on randomly while chilling in my backyard and it made me glad I ripped the album before giving it away. Turns out they have some decent tunes, some cheesey ones too, but some good ones. The album now sits happily on my CD rack.

Flight Of The Conchords - "Too Many Dicks On The Dance Floor"
I'm a big fan of Canadian music. Definitely was one of my favourite categories when I was getting into music in the 90's. Always felt it should have gotten the same attention as the British Invasion. I still try to include new Canadian acts when i'm in a musical searching mood. The other day I discovered this band from Iqaluit, Nunavut. So now I introduce them to you
Doug
Metric - "Black Sheep"

Smash Mouth - "All Star"

Khruangbin - "Maria Tambien"
Interesting how a trio with few lyrics can absolutely cram shows and give off a vibe that once was the staple to every hotel bar on evenings during the 70's and 80's. The only thing i'm missing here are the half-off drinks and free peanuts!
