There's alot going in the world these days. I had a bit of material to inspire today's pick. Donald Trump. Remembrance Day. But this, after all, is a music blog and I feel the passing of one of Canada's greats should get the nod. Not that it comes as much of a shock. Cohen himself recently mentioned that he felt his time was near and was ready, but it's still a career and catalog worthy of honouring. RIP.

No Mr. T and I didn't purposely both pick songs about changing the world. Sometimes the planets just line up that way. I don't subscribe to the blind hatred that Nickelback gets. It's toothless and misguided. I don't follow trends and I am not going to jump on that train. They have a wide selection of great songs. Exhibit A

One of the best modern metal songs out there. The song is more about avenging a murdered lover than about ghosts n' stuff, but still creepy video, creepy scary vibe. Saw these guys live on Devil's Night with Gwar back in 2007. Great show

"Hero Of The Day" is one that can always take me back to the first time I heard this album, my year of musical enlightenment. It will always hold a special place for me.
