Charlie Watts Tentet

 Rob

The Police - "Message In A Bottle"

The Rolling Stones - "Gimme Shelter"

We lost a great musician and drummer. Rarely talked about for how great he was while just being always in the pocket. Never too flashy yet always the backbone to one of Rock and Roll's greatest bands!!

Married. T

Paul Simon - "You Can Call Me Al"

Note from the Group: Congrats to the Newly Weds!!!

The Rolling Stones - "Dead Flowers"

G-Man

Local H - "All The Kids Are Right"

A forgotten great song and video from a forgotten great band.

The Rolling Stones - "Laugh, I Nearly Died"

We've all heard the news about Charlie Watts. An unimagineable career in one of the biggest Rock Bands of all time. Sadly, this is the kind of news we'll be hearing more and more in the next few years. Hold on to these songs. Dive into them. Enjoy the legacies.

Doug

Kaleo - "Way Down We Go"

Dano

The Tea Party - "Black River"

The Rolling Stones - "Rocks Off"

Jonny HP

Boney M - "Rasputin"

The Rolling Stones - "Gimme Shelter"

The Rolling Stones - "Paint It Black"

Twisted Metal Black was the pinnacle of gaming when it was released in 2001. And this song as the game was booting up is where I discovered The Rolling Stones, which in turn I then learned my dad is a huge Stones fan. Just being a pup of 8 years old, I would watch my older siblings play. For me this song will forever churn up memories of bonding with my family whether it be my siblings over video games or with my father discovering music.

J.B.

Cage - "Agent Orange"

The Rolling Stones - "Wild Horses"

Christiansands

Rob

Sparta - "La Cerca"

Mr. T

Bobby Vinton - "My Melody Of Love"

G-Man

Broken Social Scene - "Anthems For A Seventeen Year Old Girl"

Broken Social Scene were essentially a musical collective comprised of the who's who on the Canadian Indie Music circuits of the late 90's to mid 2000's. Some former members who would go on to seperate stardom include Leslie Feist, Emily Haines of Metric and Torquil Campbell of Stars. Even though they've rotated anywhere between 9-15 members at once this song manages to have a stripped down, lo-fi scene that i've really found myself hunting down lately. Enjoy

Doug

Paul Simon - "Late In The Evening"

Dano

Sara Watkins - "You & Me"

Jonny HP

Queen - "Radio Ga Ga"

Mike D

Twenty One Pilots - "Message Man"

J.B.

Nada Surf - "Popular"

Nine albums...NINE ALBUMS?!?! Can you believe these guys are still together and touring? I loved this jam back in 1996 and remember waiting a good 4 or 5 hours watching Much Music to hit "record" on my VCR. But, I haven't heard a thing or at least that memorable since then. Happy Friday and keep the good vibes going.

Special Guest Pick!

Old Yurty Bastard

The Cure - "Never Enough"

Alvvays - "Archie, Marry Me"

Imagine yourself as the kid of a pretty successful singer/songwriter...okay, now imagine on top of that, your aunts and uncles were part of this massive group that saw pretty big success in the Canadian music scene. Of course, you'd have some ridiculously, musically inclined tendencies. Enter Molly Rankin, daughter of one of the many members of the Rankin Family (East Coast music Canadiana Legends). She's got some great vocals, and writing skilss. If you're into East Coast indie or not, this and many other songs will satisfy. Happy Friday!

Rob

Lagwagon - "May 16"

Mr. T

The Band - "Life Is A Carnival"

G-Man

Pantera - "Cowboys From Hell"

It's impossible for me to hear this song and not be whisked back to the Summer of 2006. My first car that was officially mine....Fixxxer. Black '95 Sunfire. Loved rippin' around town in that thing despite how much of a bucket of bolts it was. It was mine. Paid straight cash. It had an updated soundsystem with one of those late 90's early 2000's CD players that lit up blue and orange. Naturally I had to make a mix CD to commemorate my first no-fucks-given-mobile....Fixxxer Mixxx!! Track one? Pantera and The Cowboys From Hell

Doug

Ed Sheeren - "Perfect"

Dano

Shakey Graves - "Late July"

Jonny HP
