Cryoseism

Rob

Better Than Ezra - "In The Blood"

Mr. T

Marc Ribler - "This Is How The Song Goes"

G-Man

Queens Of The Stone Age - "In The Fade"

You may not know his name but i'm sure you've heard Mark Lanegan's music. Lead singer of The Screaming Trees, founding member of Queens Of The Stone Age, a series of albums with Isobel Campbell of Belle & Sebastien, and of course, a prolific solo career. He passed away this week at the young age of 57. If you're into some dark, but well written music, give his catalog a listen. RIP Mark

Doug

Sam Hunt - "Breaking Up Was Easy In The 90's"

Dano

Isobel Campbell & Mark Lanegan - "Revolver"

These were the hardest picks without going with 12 of his tracks. The evil and the pretty in equal parts. That was Mark Lanegan

Isobel Campbell & Mark Lanegan - "Honey Child What Can I Do"

Jonny HP

TBD

Mike D

Muse - "Stockholm Syndrome"

As a tribute to one of the first songs I heard from them back in the Guitar Hero 3 Days

J.B.

Shakey Graves - "Late July"

Death Day Cake

We're back up to six members! Please welcome newest Song Of The Day Friday contributor J.B.!!
Always eager to hear what new songs and vibes different people bring to the list! Seems like he has a lot to say as well! Welcome J.B.!!

Rob

Papa Roach - "Blood Brothers"

Mr. T

Reagan James - "Better Than This"

G-Man

T-Rex - "20th Century Boy"

I've always been interested in what bands and artists inspire other bands and artists. T-Rex is a name that has popped up quite a few times, and they've even been name dropped in some famous songs like The Who's "You Better You Bet" and Mott The Hoople's "All The Young Dudes". Never really understood the hype, I mean "Bang a Gong" was alright I guess. Then I heard the entirety of Electric Warrior. And I stopped wondering.

Doug

Spirit Of The West - "Not Just A Train"

Dano

Spirit Of The West - "The Crawl"

Jonny HP

TBD

Mike D

Halsey - "Castle"

J.B.

Shakey Graves - "Doe, Jane"

Definitely and definitively a one man band. Shakey Graves gives that sort of Blue Grass feel some new age muster to a sound that keeps me searching for another gem of his. There's a lot of story telling behind his lyrics and I like this jam the most for it. Happy Friday

Rocktober Part 2

Rob

Lagwagon - "May 16"

Mr. T

The Band - "Life Is A Carnival"

G-Man

Pantera - "Cowboys From Hell"

It's impossible for me to hear this song and not be whisked back to the Summer of 2006. My first car that was officially mine....Fixxxer. Black '95 Sunfire. Loved rippin' around town in that thing despite how much of a bucket of bolts it was. It was mine. Paid straight cash. It had an updated soundsystem with one of those late 90's early 2000's CD players that lit up blue and orange. Naturally I had to make a mix CD to commemorate my first no-fucks-given-mobile....Fixxxer Mixxx!! Track one? Pantera and The Cowboys From Hell

Doug

Ed Sheeren - "Perfect"

Dano

Shakey Graves - "Late July"

Jonny HP

Paul Simon - "You Can Call Me Al"

Happy Birthday to Jonny HP! From all of us at Song Of The Day Fridays!
